November 1 to December 1 - DFVA Small Works of Art

The Delaware Foundation for the Visual Arts will hold its Small Works of Art Show at the Gallery at Grace Church, 900 Washington Street, Wilmington, DE.  This show features only small original paintings by about 30 local professional artists.  Each artist may submit up to 5 paintings.  The small size makes them a great gift for the holidays...or for yourself!  The opening night will be during Wilmington's Art Loop evening, Friday, November 7, 5:00 to 7:30, free parking and admission.  The Gallery at Grace is open for viewing Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:00 and on Sundays during and following worship service from 10:30am to 12:30pm.  Proceeds benefit the DFVA scholarship program.

November 28 & 29  - Open Studio Tour

I will be taking part in a Southern Chester County Artist's "Open Studio Tour" the weekend after Thanksgiving. 15% of all sales are being donated to the Cancer Center of Chester County Hospital.  Hours will be from 10am to 5pm each day. 10 artists will be participating.  We are all within a short drive of each other.  Each of us will be opening our home studios and exhibit areas for you to drop in!  Demos will be given, artwork available for purchase and refreshments!  We have a brochure with a map to each artist's home, and a description of their artwork, CLICK HERE for pdf file of the brochure. (it is two pages, wait for second page to load for map) OR.... If you want one mailed to you, call or e-mail me.  Each of us has a different area of expertise..... we have: a blacksmith, glassblower, textiles, ceramics, jewelry, clay monoprints, and paintings in various mediums. This will be a fun way to meet artists, see how they work, and maybe shop for the holidays!  Hope to see you here at my home! PLEASE NOTE:  Although the open studio tour is two weekends, I am only doing the first weekend due to the show listed below. ALSO: BRIDGE OUT it looks like the bridge just north of my home on North Creek Road will be closed for repairs during this time.  Access to my home on Stoney Ridge Road will still be available via the section of North Creek Road off of Good Hope Road.....or....via Flint Hill Road and Mercer Mill Road.  Call me if you have any troubles finding it.

December 4, 5 & 6 - "Art at the Atrium" for the Habitat for Humanity

On Friday 4 to 9pm, Saturday 9am to 9pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm I will be exhibiting in an art show to benefit the "Habitat for Humanity" to be held at the Brandywine Town Center, at Route 202 and Naamans Road in Wilmington, DE. This is the largest single indoor space art show in Delaware. I will have a large booth at this show with originals and prints for sale. Admission is FREE! Lots of free parking available. This will be a great time to pick out artwork for holiday gifts, and benefit a great cause!!

January 17 to February 14 - Jenner's Pond Allison Building

I will have artwork on exhibit throughout the hallways of the Alison Community Building at the Jenner's Pond retirement village.  All of the works will be available for purchase and a portion of the sales will benefit the Jenner's Pond benevolent fund. The building is located at 2000 Greenbriar Lane, West Grove, PA 19390,  off of Old Baltimore Pike, just west of the Jennersville Shopping Center.  For a map of the area, go to www.jennerspond.org

February 26,27 &28 - WWRR Hockessin Art Show

The 2009 Hockessin Art Show to benefit the Wilmington and Western Railroad will be held at the Hockessin Memorial Hall on Friday, February 26th from 5pm to 8pm, Saturday, February 27st from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, February 28nd from 11am to 4pm.  Admission  is $3, children under 12 free.  Train rides for $5 leave every hour from behind the Memorial Hall.  I will have a large exhibit area with both originals and prints. There are 27 local artists exhibiting in this show.  This is great way to beat the winter blues and get out to see some beautiful artwork!  For more information go to www.wwrr.com/artfest     Hope to see you there!!

March 19,20 & 21 - DFVA Spring Art Show at Hagley

The Delaware Foundation for the Visual Arts presents its 10th annual Spring Art Show (formally titled:"Arts & Antiques") at the Hagley Museum.  I will exhibit 5 originals at the Hagley Soda House as one of this year's "Featured Artists".  About 60 of the area's best artists will be exhibiting their artwork. All of the work exhibited are originals, there are also bins of unframed art.  A reception is held on Friday evening, by the Hagley Museum for their members only.  Saturday the show is open to the public from 10am to 4:30pm.  Sunday the show hours are 11am to 4pm. Admission is $5, under 18 free. This is one of the premier shows in the area, and is included in March's "Best Bets" and "Not to be Missed" events in several major publications.  I have been working quite hard in preparation for this show, and will be premiering several of my newest and best originals.

April 24 to May 9 - Yellow Springs Art Show

This is one of the longest running, and most prestigious shows in the area.  Since its inception in 1973, the art show has become Historic Yellow Spring's most important fund raising event.  I am proud to have my work juried into this show, as many were juried, for only a few available openings.  All works are originals, and are hung "salon style" with over 3000 paintings by 180 artists.  I will be allowed to bring 4 primary original pieces, up to 8 miniatures, and up to 20 limited edition prints.  The show is located at: Historic Yellow Springs, 1685 Art School Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425.  Monday to Thursday 11am to 5pm, Friday 11am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am to 5pm. I suggest you call the gallery first to see if they carry the piece you are looking for.  I keep an inventory of all prints at home, and you may stop by my home gallery...just call first.  The Landenberg Store carries my Landenberg scenes, and Woodside Farm will be carrying my prints of their farm.  If an original painting is at a gallery, it is noted next to the picture on this web site.
